Chief Environmental Scientist:
Christopher Burrus

Mr. Burrus developed High Desert Consulting in May of 2005.  His career as an Environmental Geologist began in 1989 after graduating from Cascia Hall Preparatory School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mr. Burrus earned a B.S. in Geology from the University of Arkansas while serving as a Medic and Emergency Medical Technician  for the 142nd Field Artillery Brigade.  As a Staff Geologist with Genesis Environmental Consulting in Little Rock, Mr. Burrus worked closely with the State of Arkansas for the regulation and compliance of thirteen landfills within Arkansas.  During the late 1990's, Mr. Burrus was employed with McClelland Consulting Engineers of Fayetteville, Arkansas as a Laboratory Geologist studying construction soils and building materials for engineering standards.  Beginning in 2001, Mr. Burrus was an Associate Environmental Scientist for internationally known Duke Energy - Engineering and Services Division later known as Intera Incorporated.   He provided consulting services for a wide range of hazardous waste sites all over the U.S. and was part of a team of cutting edge scientists responsible for cleaning up contaminated sites.  He volunteers as a Ski Patroller for the Sandia Peak Ski and Bike Patrol where he maintains Emergency Care Certifications.   Mr. Burrus is also an accomplished musician regularly competing with the 1999 World Pipe Band Champions, High Desert Pipes and Drums of Albuquerque
